Under an arrangement with the police that they would not ask for ids execution if lie confessed, Huirt admitted that besides seven correct wives. lie killed seven others of the 20 he married. and who arc now missing. 'The police testified Viat it would have been impossible lo convict Huirt of murder if tie had declined to confess. The judge, in sentencing him, declared it the most heinous crime in history.
