DIPLOMATIC REPRESENTATION. IX THE UNITED STATES. ' (Australian and X.Z. Cabin Assn.l OTTAWA, May 10. The appointment of the Canadian Minister to the United States was announced in Parliament. He will negotiate purely in Canadian interests in Washington. .The Minister will hold a St mi-diplomatic status and take full charge of British diplomacy in IhC United Stales during the British Ambassador's absence. The American Consul-General at Ottawa, if Congress agrees, will act on the United States’ behalf in Canada.
