Horne stated that the Government .thought the removal-of control of the distribution of coal as soon as possible was essential, hut'it would only be if .the ■artificial differentiation in the prices of industrial and household coal were removed. The Government had decided that both must be ■ sold-at a price to cover production and standard profits „ allowed hy the Emergency Act. Therefore the maximum prices for-industrial coal and household coal would be increased hy 4s 2d and 14s 2d a tun respectively from May 12.
