The first meeting of the Maungakawa Rabbit Hoard was held at Cambridge on Wednesday, when the following members, who had been returned unopposed were present: ‘Messrs Martial, Lowe, Elliott, BamforUi, and the Stock Inspector. After the Waingaro sale on 27 a numherj of animals were being taken across the river at Nguruawafiia, when a bullock belonging to Hcllaby’s, Ltd., Auckland, broke Its leg. in a letter to Hie Raglan County Council, on Hie matter, yesterday, Mr J. While a deputation was being heard by the Raglan County Council, at the Court House, Raglan, yesterday, discussion of the matter in hand fell into a general rouncl-the-table conversation, when suddenly the’ meeting was startled by a-loud voice from the rear of the Court, enquiring "Is this a deputation or a debating society?” For a moment the meeting was taken aback, and, the discussion ceased, when Mr C. Johnstone, county chairman, answered (hat it was a deputation. This seemed to satisfy the owner of the voice, a stalwart bushmnn, who resumed his seat, and sat out the remainder of the proceedings without further interruption.

A meeting of the committee which is arranging for the provision .of accommodation for visitors to the Waikato Winter Show Was field yesterday afternoon, there being present: Messrs .1. R. Few, W. F. Mason, J. W.'ilodd, W. H. Paul and .McKenzie. It was resolved to interview hotelkeepers and boardinghouse-keepers, and ascertain the amount of accommodation likely to bo available, and the tariff lo be charged, and also to invite residents lo register any accommodation they may have available, il was also resolved to interview restaurant-keepers regarding Hie fixing of a reasonable charge for meals, it being considered that it was not a fair thing to raise the tariff unreasonably during Show Week.
