TOE PRICE DRAPERY HAMILTON. INVESTIGATIONS BY MR J. R. HART (PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE.) The following is an extract from the Waikato Times of Tuesday, December 2nd, 1919: "Despite the fact that aceordin to latest statistics the cost of living in Hamilton has increased to the second highest of towns in the Dominion, with a rise of 46.7 per cent, in food and rent, the surprising statement was made to a Times reporter to-day by Mr J. R. Hart, President of the Board of Trade, that his wife found articles of drapery so cheap at one of Hamilton's establishments she visited that she decided.to take a quantity back with her to Auckland. Prices in these lines, at any rate, were lower than had been found in other places. Mr Hart's visit to the town was not in anyway official, though while here he inquired into prices of certain commodities" The establishment visited by the President of the Board of Trade and referred to above was HOUSE & BAKING'S, Limited. We buy direct from the Manfacturer in big quantities, paying spot cash In London. The goods are marked In plain figures at a fixed price so as to return a fair, legitimate profit.
