THE P. & T. SERVICE
DISSATISFIED WITH CLASSIFICATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Tuesday. At » large meeting of the West Coast Post and Telegraph Association a resolution was carried unanimously, that in the opinion, of this section the new classification in the service_ is very far from satisfactory. Anomalies have been disclosed, by which experienced officers are receiving only £1 to" £2o increment, while other officers are receiving £9O to £IOO. The main ground of objection lies in the fact that the Department disregarded the cost of living. The meeting expressed general dissatisfaction' with the classification list, but wished to suggest that a general increase, with £-!o as' minimum, be paid to all, and that the war bonus, as promised by the Premier and Postmaster-General before their departrro for England be paid forthwith in full.
