THE PUKEMIRO STRIKE
INSPECTION AGREED TO. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Wednesday. The manager of the Puketniro Coal Company has advised the minors that, nt the' request of Hon. Sir James Allen, who interceded on the subject of coal supplies to the public, the company has consented to allow the workmen'.-, inspectors to examine the old workings in dispute. The union secretarv has replied that the matter will ho 'dealt \v ith by the union on Thursday. He adds that the resumption ot work would have lx>en more expedited if the manager had said that in future the cheek inspectors would not be interfered with in the execution of their duties.
