Solos were rendered by Misses Wills and Warren, Messrs J. T. Osborn, Lindcman, McAlpine; a duet by Messrs Eastwood and Thomas; recitations by Mrs Northcote and Mr Weeks. At the conclusion of the speeches Mr E. McGregor, on behalf of the citizens of Morrinsville, asked the Rev. Woolloxall to accept a purse of sovereigns, and wished him Godsnoed and success. Rev. The ordinary meeting of the Loyal Morrinsville Lodge, 1.0.0.1*., M.U., No. 8103, was held in the lodge room on Tuesday evening. A meeting of settlers was hold in the Huntly West Farmers’ Hall to decide what action was to be taken with regard to the proposed metalling scheme for the roads in the district. The scheme is to metal the main road from Huntly to the Hall, and the worst places further on, also the worst places on tlie side roads at Pukekapia, Rotongard and Waikokowai the necessary funds to be raised by a loan and a special vote struck over the area to pay for it. A large majority of the men present were in favour of getting the thing done, and after a great deal of discussion, it was decided to petition the County Council to have a noli taken, a committee being set up to define the boundaries of the proposed special rating area and anv other particulars necessary, so as to lay the scheme before the Council in a concrete form. At the conclusion of the Anzac service, a presentation was made to Mr. Best by a" numFier of his Ohaupo friends, on the occasion of his leaving the district to take up his residence in Morrinsville. Mr. Edwards made the presentation and spoke in complimentary terms of Mr. Best’s Qualities as a citizen, and asked his acceptance of a sum of money as a small token of tlieir esteem.

On Wednesday afternoon last Mrs. Rest was entertained by the ladies of tlie Presbyterian Church here at a social afternoon, Mrs. J. Williamson taking the chair. After tea had been r.erved Mrs. Williamson, in a happy little, speech, spoke of the regret thev all felt at losing such a good church worker as Mrs. Best, and wished them every success in their new home. She then called on Mrs. Eanby to make a nresentation to Mrs. Best on their behalf of a handsome leather hand-hag. Mrs. Best suitably replied. Musical items were given during the afternoon. The Misses Best were the recipients of presentations from the Sundav School, showing the esteem in which this excellent family is held in the town. General. We are oleascd to welcome home Mr. T.fmrio Pickett, only son of Host Pickett, of the Ohauno Hotel, after service abroad with the N./.E.F. I hear that Messrs Molesworth and Son have disposed of their businesses f o Mr. Hayr at a very satisfactory figure.
