ROLL OF HONOUR
SERGEANT A. J. BLYTH. Sergeant Andrew Jackson Blyth, who died of pneumonia while on active service, was the s-.h i ~-! .-.en of Mr and Mrs D. Blyth, of Christdmrch, and nephew of Mrs \V. H. Milliken, Te Aroha. Previous to enlisting he was employed by Mr P. Baine, Te Aroha. At the outbreak of war he enlisted with the Gth Hauraki Company, and served throughout the Gallipoli' campaign. Being transferred to France, he went through the big battles there unscathed. About a year ago he was transferred from the inf; ntrv to the machine-gun corps, and later was one of severe! selected for special dutv in Mesopotamia. There he found ' the climate very trying, and eventually succumbed to illness. Four of deceased's brothers have seen considerable service at the war. TROOPER F. MANNING.
Trooper Fred Manning, reported died of malaria fever in Palestine, was the second son of Mrs A. A. Manninsr and the late H. B. Manning, of Hamilton East (late of Paeroa). He left New Zealand with the Seventh Reinforcements, ami was in his .T2nd year. His brother Lansrly left with the Main Body i Sixth Haurakis). and was killed at the landing of Gallipoli.
