Word has been received by his mother that Private Percy Charles Keeley has been wounded. Private Keeley is a son of the late Mr C. W. Keeley, who was the first chairman of the Matamata County Council. Corporal Thomas H. Rvan, a member of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, who was killed in action on October 1, was a son of Mr J. Ryan, of Waihoj. Previous to enlisting he was engaged in farm work on his father's property, and was deservedly popular with ail who knew him.
