Evidently the civilians evacuated Cantaing in the nick of time. German lowflying aeroplanes are busy " over the British advanced lines, while heavy gunfire opposes our advance in the direction of Crevocceur. The bulk of the enemy artillery is directed against the British in the region of Cantaup and Bourlon Wood. The British engineers' work has been little short of miraculous.
