Files.) WEEK ENDING 19th MAY, 1876

The Ngaruawania Murder.— The war. rant for the execution of Te Pati, the native who murdered Morgan in the Ngaruawahia gaol, arrive J in Auckland during the week. A rumour had gained currency that he had murdered his k o er :n the Auckland gaol, but when the report was traced, to its source it was found to be founded on the fact that one of the men who had been ( eiaiied to watch him had died after a short illness. Peculiar Accident.— Mr R. F. Sandes, chemist, of Hamilton, drew a tooth for a child. When the forceps were removed from the patient's mouth, they closed with a snap, molar and forcing it with considerable force upwards. It struck Mr Sandes with great force in the, eye, causing him much pain, and he had to remain in a dark room for some time.

Limestone. —A shipment of limestone was taken from Raglan to Auckland on account of Mr Buchanan, monumeu< il mason, who wished to ascertain the suitability of the stone foi the purpisfs of his trade. Hamilton East School.—The voru of removing three of the Emigration cottages for re-erection as a school rnd master's dwelling at Hamilton East was in hand. The flock of Mr Jolly, of Frankton, had been visited by canines on Sunday night, and numerous animals were reported missing. i

Thames- Waikato Railway. —The suneviug staff arrived on the scene to lav off tiie route of the railway from Waikato to the Thames. Rifle Match —A rifle match was fnnl at Hamilton between teams representing the local cavalry and civilians. The former won by 28 points.
