NATIONALISTS' MAJORITY.

SYDNEY, April 16

The result of the two remaining second ballots, those in the Gloucester and Hawkesbury district's, has been the election of Independent National candidates.

The state of parties in the new Parliament will therefore be:—National .. .. .. 53 Independent National .. 4 Political Labour League .. 30 Members at the front .. 3

Of the Independent members three are expected to support the Government. All the soldier members belonged to the old Labour party, but it is not known how their votes will go in the new Parliament.
