WAIKATO SUCCESSES. (By Telegraph—Special to Times). AUCKLAND, Friday. The .Metropolitan Show opened to-day -in glur.ous weather, and tor a hist day the attendance was large. Generally speaking, ttie horse entries . show an increase ot over 1U(), and the cattle oi over -SU. Pigs are something like a record, but sheep are not quite up to standard. Competition in the grandstand ring keen as ever, the horticultural section is fine, machinery exhibits are plentiful, and the dog show is the best ever. In the horse rings Clydesdales and bloodstock, harness horses, and hunters, are such as to reflect ciedit on any show. The cattle section is full of, interest for stock fanciers. Jerseys lieing most especially strong. The following are the Waikato successes '. SADDLE MORSES.
