The iollowing matches were played on the Cambridge greens yesterday, tho whole of them being in the first round* tor the various competitions, with the exception of one game, which was in the second round £or the championship : Championship Matches—First round: K. Anderson beat E. J. Wilkinson, 18— 8; A. H. Xieoll defeated J. Byrne, 24 IS: R. Mullins beat E. IF Wilkins, 'B—l/ ;F. O'Toole defeated A. Pearce, 20—10. Second round : E. J. Wilkinson beat J. Byrne, 22 13. Pi esident s Pairs. Cowling and Pearce defeated Vickers and S. Lewis, 20—12; Coltman and Read beat E. J.' Wilkinson and K. Anderson, 19—15. Handicap Singles—J. Byrne boat S. Cowling, 24—20; A. H. Nicoll defeated R. Fisher, 18—1/; G. Read beat S. Lewis, 16—15; R, Mullins beat J. F. Frost, 24—13.
