Taupo Railway.

NO CHANCE AT PRESENT

WELLINGTON, Saturday

Delegates to the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce were introduced by Mr Mac Donald, M.P., to Sir Joseph Ward this morning, respecting the railway from Rotorua to Taupo, also from Tokaanu toKakahi on the Main Trunk. Sir Joseph Ward said •he could not hold out any prospect of an immediate undertaking of the line from Rotorua to Taupo. There were already nineteen lines tinder construction in the Dominion, and there would probably be several important feeders authorised during the present session, consequently he thought the project asked for was out of the question in the meantime .
