ENGLAND v. AMERICA

(Per Press Association.—Copyright). NEW YORK, Sapt. 13. In Monday's match, Dixon and Beamish defeated Thomas Bundy (California), and Raymond Little (New York) 6—3, 7—5, 7—5, 6—4. The kills and valleys of the Englishmen were especially brilliant. To-day both in the closing matches went through four sets. McLoughlin beat Dix<_>n B—6. 3—6, 6—3, B—2. Larned defeated Lowe B—3, I—6 7-5, 6-1. McLoughlin smashed round Dixon in a most spectacular fashion in the last set <ancl held the Englishmen to love before the iatter scored a single game. His speed at the net won the game.
HAMILTON WESLEY CLUB
The annual general meeting of the Wesley Tennis CJul. was held on Monday evening, when a good number oi members were present. The report and balance-sheet were read and confirmed, and showed a very satisfactory state of .affairs. The Re\. Wrcgley was elected president for the coming, season, and W. J. Livingstone, hen,, secretary an.i treasurer. "t
The election of other officers was left to the general meeting to lie held jn about a month's time. A letter was read from the bon. secretary of the T e Awamutu Te-vni s Club'asking the club to appoint a delegate to a meeting to toe held on September 20th in Hamilton to discuss toe desirability 0 f forming a South Auckland Tennis Association!" Mr W. Turtott was appointed t> represent the club. Messrs Pethybridge Tiirf./ott iand the secretary were appointed a 'ground committee to arrange to have the courts ready for the opening day, October 11th.
FRANKTON TENNIS CLUB
The annual meeting of the above club was 'held in Mr Gosling's office on Tuesday, a good attendance of members .being present. Mr T. Johnson presided over the meeting. The annual report and balancesheet showing a credit balance of £2 Is 6d.
A fetter was received from the T~ Awamutu Club asking' that Frankton send a delegate to a meeting to be held in Hamilton on the 2llth inst. to contemplate forming a South AucKland Tennis Association. The chairman was ar^okited to attend.

Jolly ( rs . elected) ; vice-presidents, Messrs Gosling. Speedy, Barclay, and Johnson A management committee anid o general committee were also formed. Mr C. G. Next Saturday promises tq forth one of the most interesting football matches played in the district this season. The match will He Lower Waikato Rugby League representatives against the Hawk-V, Bay Native team. Last Saturday the x/ower ft aiWto won the Endean shield at 'Rotorua after a fast gams while the Hawke's Bay team put up a 'good fight wfcth Auckland. Given a fine day it is safe to say that t-hn match, which is to be played on the Caledonian grounds at Frankton. will 'lxei worth seeing, and will no doubt draw a large attendance.
