OBITUARY.

+ —_ MRS GWYNNE

It is our aad duty to-day to chronicle the death of Mrs Givyune, senior, which took place at the residence of her daughter, Miss Newell, yosterdiy, at the ripe old age of 75 yuirj. Mrs Gwynne was born in lLdfast in 1831, aQd iu 1855, iu Sydney, she married Air Ilenjamin Newell and they came to Auck land in June of that year. Mrs Newell whs left a widow, ani a few years later iu 18157 married Mr Richard Gwynne. Mr and Mrs Gwyrne came to Hamilton in 1871, taking over the Hamilton Hotel. Mr (j'vynue died in 1883. but Mrs Gwynne continued to conduct the hotel until September 18'J'J, since which time slie had been living privately. I'he deceased lady was widely knjwn throughout the Waikato district, and was held in very high resp ct. Mrs G wynne has been in failing health for some months, and her death was not unexpected. Much sympathy will be extended to the family in their bereavement.
