SCHOOL PICNIC.

HAMILTON EAST. With perfect weather, an ideal spot, good workers, including all Mr Gillett'e family, this function so dear to children oame off yesterday grandly. For many years, Mr Gillett has given his farm to the committee and teachers for the picnic, and it is the best possible place for one. An old scholar "All Black" George had put swings and prepared tho plaoe for racing and jumping, so that from 8 a.m. till dark the youngsters held high carnival. After tea cheers were given for Mr and Mrs Gillett and extras for " All Black " George. In brakes, supplied by the committee, the bulk of the tired but happy kiddies were whirled home. In connection with the picnic, a competition, molels in wood for the boys, and dressed dolls was held. The prize winners were as as follows: Girls: Dolls—l Pearson, G. Williams, A. Wurr, M. Walker, A. Williams, M. Winter, |D. Chamberlin, D. Peace, A.' Payne.
