STEAMER WRECKED.

PASSENGERS AND MAILS ASHORE. SYDNEY, November 19. News has just been received that the Eastern and Australian Co.'s steamer Australia, bound from Sydney to Hongkong, via Queensland ports, went ashore on Saturday night near Port Darwin. Her position is critical, and her forehold is full of water. The passengers, mails and specie were landed at Port Darwin. A steamer with salvage appartus has been despatched to the scene from Thursday Island.
