CHARGE AGAINST A CONSTABLE.
ALLEGED THEFT FROM A PRISONER. (Bv Telecirapu—Pkess Association.) WELLINGTON, This day. At the Magistrates' Court to-day, Constable Jeremiah O'Brien was charged with stealing a sovereign from one Patrick Cogl.'.au, whom he had arrested for drunkenness. Accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial.
