Mr J. P. Hogan and family left Hamilton yesterday for Auckland and the Sjuth. Mr 0. Poole, the well-known apiarist and bee expert, is lying ill at the Aucklaud hospital with throat trouble. Mr V. J. Tully, of tho Greytown branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has transferred to the Rotorua branch of that bank. Adviee has been received that the Primate of New Zealand (Bishop Nevill) will leave England this month, and arrive in the colony in tiino for the sossion of the Anglican General Synod in January. Mr Robert Seddon, auctioneer, of Te Puke, son of Mr S. T. Seddon, of Hamilton, died yesterday morning. Mr Seddon had a leg broken about a fortnight ago, and pleurisy supervened. He leaves a widow and four children. A Glasgow paper states that Mr William Cairns, father of Dr. Cairnß, of Taumaru nui, has just retired on full pay from the managership of the Union Bank, Gatehouse of Fleet. Mr Ciirns entered the Bink at the age of fourteen, and has been in their employ for fifty-nine years, and manager sinoe 1856.
