NAVAL ACTIVITY.
THE RESERVE IN COMMISSION. LONDON, November 12. The Standard asserts that eleven first-class and two second-class battle ships, and twelve cruisers are at Devonport awaiting repairs or refitting. With the exception of the j Majestic every ship in the reserve ' fleet at Portsmouth is in argent commission. ORDERS FOR NEW VESSELS. LONDON, November 10. Orders aggregating nearly a million, for the armament of three Dreadnoughts, for delivery within two years, have been given to J, Brown and Company, Caminell and Lairds, and Vickers and Msxim. The remainder, over half a million, go to Sir W. B. Armstrong and William Beardmcre.
