THE BOER RISING.
REASSURING REPORTS. THE LOYAL DI TCH. LONDON, November 11. The Agent-General for Cape Co'ony thinks that the raid is ol little political importance and will soon be suppressed. In his opinion it is unlikely to reach the populated districts or towns. CAPETOWN. November 11. - The Cape Government does not r* consider the rebellion serious, though ' it is considered that the inhabitants may possibly be misled by exaggerated reports of Ferreira's successes. The Dutch leaders at Capetown, including Mr Hofmeyer, advise the settlers to support the Government. The Government itself has meanwhile taken action .by the despatch of forty troopers and scouts to intercept the raiders, and 1">0 Cape Mounted RiHes are starting for Priska immediately. ADDITIONAL SEIZURES. CAPETOWN. November 11. Ferreira and ten of his followers, thirty miles north of Upington are intimidating farmers. They captured * a trader and several others, and horses, additional firearms and ammunition were seized. THE IDENTITY OF FERREIRA. LORD MILNER INTERVIEWED. CAPETOWN, November 12. Some believe that Ferreira is the adventurer who towards the close of the Kruger regime removed the pegs of a great mining property at Johannesburg. LONDON, November 11. Lord Milner, interviewed, said the raid was trifling, and a mere police matter. It was very unlikely that troops would be required. The Daily Mail says Ferreira expects two parties of freebooters to cross the German frontier, joining him. A Moritz, leader of the Boers in the employ of the Germans, with a view to persuading Transvaal adventurers to enlist as transport drivers, promised them in 1904 or 1905 that their ultimate return to the Transvaal would be via the British border as invaders. THE AGENT-GENERAL'S VIEW. LONDON, November 12. Sir Thomas Fuller, Agent-General for the Cape, interviewed, regarded the raid as the work of a handful of individuals bent on robbery, failing to get the foothold they desired in German territory.
