CAMBRIDGE HORSE FAIR. The New Zealand Lo in and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, commenced their special horse fair at Cambridge yesterday, the weather beinir beautifully tine. Buyers were in attendance in the usual largo numbers, among them being such well-known buyers ks Messrs Hawkins (Christchurch), Knight aud Stevenson (Palmerston North), Hookou (Feildiag), Morton ( L'aihape), Smith (Qisborr.fi), and others from various other parts of the colony Unbroken stock of all classes and draughts occupied the first day's sale. Ad the unbroken stock were sold, also about 80 tine draughts, and generally 6peiking the da_\'s operations were quite as successful as those of preceding years. Unbroken light horses fetched from £8 5s to JCI3 10s, unbroken draughts (medium) .£lB to £2B 10s; heavy colts, .£36 to £l4 ; draught horses (young), four to six year old, £lO to £SO; 8-year-old draughts, £25 to £33. Eighteen.3 and 1-year-old colts and fillies from Mr Jas. Taylor were a choice lot, and elicited keei competition, the prices realised ranging from £2B to £SO. The dr.ught stallion "Lord Bailey" fetched £6B, aud the draught stallion " Colonel Gordon," £57. The sale will be continued till Friday (inclusive).
