PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

Jlhe ordinary monthly meeting was held at Cambridge on Saturday, there being present: M?ssr3 R. Fisher (Chairman), E. Reynolds, J. Anderson and J. Keeley. Bridge Loan.—The Chairman reported that satisfactory arrangements had beon made in regard to raising the Board's contribution towards the level bridge. The Board had paid £IL2S, and the balance Tould be available as required. Mr Wilson sent in an application tor a set of pipes in Tennyson-street.—Left in Messrs Reynolds and Keeley's haads to deal with. Technical School.—The hon. treasurer of the proposed technical school fund applied for the £lO promised by the Board. Payment of the amount was deferred until the Cambridge Road Bojrd decides on its contribution. ''New Courthouse,—The hon. sec. of the Cambridge 5000 Club wrote asking cooperation in an endeavour to secure a new Courthouse for Cambridge —lt was decided to support the movement. Drain.—A number of settlers having applied to the Board at a previous mooting for permission to open a drain across the road near Messrs Vick9rs' property, lfigal opinion was take.i, which was to the effect that the Board should not touch the drain at all, unless eve.-y property owner likely to be affected signed an agreement exempting the Board from all liability. In the meantime the responsibility rested with the settlers. The Secretary's Salarv.—An application by the secretary (Air H. Fitzgerald) for an increase of salary, was deferred till next mee'ing.
