PRESENTATION AT TAUWHARE.

A pleasing function took place on * Friday night last at the Tauwhare Public Hall, when Mr John Gordon, Chairman of Directors of the Eureka Co-operative Dairy Company, was the recipient of a handsome wa;king stick, surmounted with layers of cut greenstone and quart/. Crystal. Mr Hetherington, in making the presentation, referred in eulogistic terms to the yeoman and gratutioua J services rendered to the suppliers by Mr Gordon, wh:ch service has placed the company in tho enviab.e position which it now occupies. Mr Gordon, in the course of a humourous reply, sincerely thanked all present for their mark of esteem and assured their that he had done nothing but his duty. A most enjoyable dance followed, and a most memorable evening was entirely due to the untiring efforts of the committee of ladies and gentlemen, who provided the music and some very enjoyable sccial items, amongst the performers being Mesdames Aubin and Penaell and Mes-rs Fred. Clarkin andThos. Palmer, of Waihi, whose items did credit to their Waihi reputation. Owing to a package being mislaid, other presentations intended for Mr Gordon's codirectors were not made, but this matter will be attended to as soon as possible.
