Hurd, •district Koad Engineer, said he had visited the road through the Freshfidd Fstate surveyed by Mr J. W. Hainson, - of Auckland, and found a really good road within the surveyed boundary possible if properly gr-ded before the formation is carried out.—Bee- ived. Telephone.—The Board agreed to pay the cost of a telephone to be installed in the County office. Eoadino at Taupiri.—Mr Gordon, on behalf of the New Zealand Land Association, submitted the specili -ations for the new road through the Taupiri portion of the Woodlands Estate. Members of the Board expressed approval. Foremen's REPoitTs.-Mr J. G. Stocken, foreman, reported on the work done by him during the past mcnth. Air H. Winter recommended that 5 chains of reforming be done opposite Mr Roich's, Eureki; Tamaherehiil repaired, and Cambridge and Piako roads patched. The River road require! formng from Mr J. Knight's to Mr L. O'Neiii's boundary ; 15 chains of Ueaphy Tenace required reforming. The p-pes in the G. dram sh >uld be replaced by a bridge. Mr Chitty wa3 empowered to d*al with the River road, the report being adopted. Accounts.—Several small ace unts were passed for payment, including E. J. Fairburn £li Os 6d and J. Wright £5 lis. Tenders to be Called. -It was decided to ask Mi Fairburn to survey road through the Hukanui Ma ri settlem nt, and Messrs Chitty and Seddon were em piwered to deal with tenders for the work. . Change of Foreman.—lt was decided to dispense with Mr Stocken'* services as foreman, applications to be culled f,r a successor.
