HARVESTER DUTIES.
- SCENE IN THE FEDERAL HOUSE. MELBOURNE, September f>. An angry scene occurred in die Federal House over the harvester duties. Mr Poynton, a South Australian Labour member, characterised Sir William Lyne's action in making the value of harvesters £65 as monstrous. It was, he said, an unmitigated and brazen thing to do. The proposal ought to be scouted out of the House, when the Tariff Commission had fixed the value at £3B.
