AUCKLAND NEWS.
[by telegraph.-own correspondent]. ... Auckland, Last Night. After the jury was sworn at the Supreme Ooart this morning, His Honor said he wished to say a few words .concerning a matter which had come to his knowledge that persons had been going about with a list of the jurymen summoned endeavouring to influence their verdict in a certain direction. -He would not refer to this matter further, but he hoped any case would be reported. His Honor further said it had come* to his knowledge that attempts had also been made to bribe wit-' uesses in certain cases. He hoped that the jury representing the country as they did would do;their;duty as citizens and to their country by giving information to the Crown prosecutor. Before discharging the jury for luncheon to-day His Honor said they must not allow any person to speak to them about the case or attempt to interfere with their verdict in this case or any other case, as it would be a very serious offence,
. Dr, Kenderdine's funeral was largely attended. , ■
At the Wairarapa inquiry the Counsel's addresses have closed. The Bench gives judgment at an early date.
