MARKET REPORTS.
The New; Zealand Land Association (Limited) report under date:— Melbourne,, March 6.-Wheat: Tlio tendency of the- market throughout the month has been' downward*, thn low prices in Europe, lack of competition for shipment, and heavy supplies inducing a considerable drop in quotation?. Some large sales have, however, been made by farmers. Prices opened at 2s 3d and 2s 3'fd, pud have since receded to 2s 3d and 2*3£ d,< the latter being, the quotation for shipping parcels. During the past few days less wheat has been offering, and the market is much firmer, and may be quoted for larpe parcels from 2s 3|d to 23 4d.-F)our: -Up to the last week the demand has been quiet, but a fair business hss been done by millers to meet the wants of the adjoining colonies. Within the last two or three days low prices have attracted buyers, and some 2,000 tm have been taken off the market for shipment. We quote-Stone made '• at £5 15s to £6, and roller dressed from £6 to £6 os.—Oats; The supply throughout the month has been large, and pricos have shown an easier tendency, Prime clean Algerians, suitable for milling, much in favour. We quote—Algerians from Is 4d to Is 6|d (according, to • sample), and Tartarian and stout Is 7:1 to Is lid.— Maize: Prices have declined from 3s at the. opening of the month to 2s 4d, with a weak demand, caused by a falling off in consumption due >to other descriptions of horse feed being cheaper. Adelaide, March 1.-Wheat: Our market continues steadily, notwithstanding that quotations both in London and Melbourne arc somewhat easier. Wheat has been cold during the past week at 2s 4d to 2s 4|d' per bushel, on trucks, Port Adelaide, and from 2s 3d to 2h 4d afloat. Under date 27th inst. our London office cabled us as follows:-" The market is very weak, C.i.f. and spot quotations have declined 31. per qr. since last report, " —Flour: Millers • complain of_ a paucity of orders, and prices are easier Ih.au those quoted in our last circular. Best brands of pateut roller are worth £6 2s 6d to £6 7s 6d; country superfine £o to £5 10s. Oats: —(duty 2< per cental).-New Zealand feed oats'2s 2d to 2s 3d in bond, Port Adelaide; South Australian white oats from 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; dark ditto Is 6d,to Is Bd. '
