The usaal monthly meeting of the above Board' was held in the . Waikato County Council Chambers, Hamilton East, yesterday, There wsr6 present : Messrs I. Coates (chairman), W. Chitty, R. Gillett, and Jno. Gordon. '

Overdraft.—The Clerk said he required the Board to pass a resolution empowering the Treasurer to arrange with the Bank of New Zealand for an overdraft which was not to exceed £894 Os 4d, this being the amount of rates receivable.—This was agreed to. Balance.—The balance at the Bank;was reported as in credit £9l6s 9d. Accounts.—The following accounts were passed for payment; J. Hall, £1; J, C, Salmon, £37 2s 7d, and deposit returned, £ls; W.,Miller, £l9s; Triplow, £6; McNiclde, £7los; Short, £2l7s 6d. Shortage.—Mr John Gordon reported that the measurements in the Whangamairi bridge cutting contract, as made by Mr Nutter, did not agree with those made by Mr T. G. Sandes. These were made when Mr B. J. Mac Lean was present. The total made by Mr Nutter was 3235 yards and by Mr Sandes, 4527 yards, a difference of 1292 yards, which had been paid for at per yard. After a discussion it was decided 1 to ask Mr Sandes if his figures were correct. Bridges.—A desultory discussion ensued upon the state of the Tauhae, : Riverslea and Komokorau bridges.*"' A report on the latter bridge was read from Mr Worthington.—lt was resolved to send the letter on to Mr B. J. McLean, and if the report meets with his approval the work is to be gone on with at once. The road will be closed until the repairs are effected. In the event of the work being completed in a satisfactory manner the other bridges will be gone on with in the same manner. : Foreman.—The Foreman of Works having been ill for nearly a month, it was decided to ask Mr McNickle to take his position until the recovery of the formor, who will receive half-pay from the time of his illness. Drain.-A communication was received from Mr Henderson,, Ngaruawahia, about the drain near his property,-No action was taken in the matter.
