HAMILTON AMATEUR DRAMATIC SOCIETY AT CAMBRIDGE.

The above Society gave a dramatic entertainment in the Cambridge Public Hall on Thursday ovoning. Tho hall was only fairly well filled, but nevertheless, the entertainment was the best of its kind that has been gnon in Cambridge for many years, and in saying this, bo it understood wo do not exclude professional companies. The first pioce was" A Silent Woman," and in this Miss Wilson and Messrs Swarbrick and D.ilston wore simply perfection. The vacant look upon Miss Wilson's face, when pretending to be deaf and dumb, was worth going along way to see; and it must have been very trying to keep it there while her lover was snouting in her eartrumpet, and tho whole of the audience convulsed with langliK lir" Not Such a Fool as Ho Looks," Mrs Kenny as Mrs Mould, Mr Swarbrick, as " Mould," and and MrDalstnn as "Sir Simon Simple," were as goi'd as any professionals could be; and Miss Wilson's" Mrs Morton" and Dr Kenny's "Daniel Murga'.royd," were excellent Miss Sandes as " Felicia Craven," did well, but hardly betrayod sufficient emotion, and Mr Stevens as " Frederick Granny," was rather a cool-blooded lover, but his was a small part, The plays were well staged, and in fact everything in connection therewith was Al, exceot the interVila, and they were AL—awfully long. Cambridge has been rather overdone with shows lately, but we venture to say if this entortoinmtnt had been given in aid of one of the churches, there would not have been standing room.
