HAUTAPU CRICKET CLUB.

The annual fodettogr of this club was held in the Tamahere ; Hotel on Friday evening lost, 10th mat. The balancesheet 1 was* read ami adopted. The lawn tennis set wastakenover by Mr Paton at cost price, £4* the, members not thinking wise to refuse disposal of it, as they had not a court. ' Two or three new members joined, a committee of three was appointed to sec about a good and permanent ground. It was decided to have a practice in the paddock opposite the Tamahere Hotel (where a very good temporary vifcket was found) on Saturday the 18th in'st. A vdte of thunkd to out going t/fticers for- past year's sei'viiies closed > & very -satisfactorily meeting. Since then tho 1 club met for practice as resolved; The attendance was good, and a pleasant afternoon was spent, everyone expressing himself well pleased with the ground. An offer by Mr W. A. Graham to the club will, I hope, be accepted at i their next meeting, viz: — A cricket ground for ten years for Is per annum, and the loan of a patent roller that mows as well as rolls. The grouud can with a little labor from the club be converted into one of the best in the North Island. The practices for the future will be held every Wednesday and Saturday at 4 p.m. and if members only roll up well, they will show up creditably through the season, although they have started late. — (A Correspondent.)
