The remains of the Prince Imperial are on their way home and will be interred with considerable ceremony.
Lord Lawrence, formerly Gover-nor-General, of India, is dead. .

Latest advices 'from the Cape report that Cetewayo is disheartened, and has .retired to the bush fastnesses.
LONDON, June 24.
Advices from Cape Town to June 10 th state that General Newdsgate has advanced to Solfe River, and taken up an entrenched position.
Major-General Crealock crosed the River Umvolosi, and established a base of operations with Port Durnford.
A fresh attempt by the Colonial troops to take Moirises stronghold was unsuccessful.
