The Provisional Directors have ascertained the opinion of the Waikato Settlers on the subject, and have been promised an almost unanimous support. As tlic name of tho Company implies, it is tbo intention to make it principally a settler's undertaking, and with that view, the Company is to be formed in £1 shares, so that all residents may be able to join, thereby securing to tho Company the whole of the river traffic, and consequently, to themselves a remunerative investment. Tho Directors anticipate that the Shares will be fully subscribed for, and operations commenced within six months and that not more than 10s. per share will be called up satisfactory banking arrangements having been made. it is^ proposed to build a powerful itcamer suitable for ho requirements of the rive, at an estimated cost of £5001 ; also several barges and Goods' Depots. Arrangements havo been niado for a supply of Coal at Ralph's Mine, at the rate of 10s. per ton, for a term of years. The Waikato Flax Company are willing to run their steamer, now being built, in connection with the Company, or if Jcairoblc, amalgamate the oaujc iritll it. __^_ . The Oflice of the Company is to be in Auckland, with a Manager in Waikato, under the direction of a Local \ Committee.
