COMMERCIAL.
Mr Alfred Buekland reports:— At the Haj market, on Friday last, fodder was in full supply, and without alteration in values. Horse stock wore in less than usual numbers. For young useful animals, particularly medium draught, there »vas a steady inquiry at lale values, but ill-condilioned nnd aged horse stock were dull of sale. — At Kemuera, on Tlmrsclav, dairy cows were in full supply, and for choice annnuls there was a fair inquiry at late values. Calves were in moderate numbers, and at scarcely so high values. Yearling steera in request. Grown store cattle in moderate numbers, and rather dull of sale. Fat cattle m excess of requirements, and of very good quality ; 138 head penned : prices lower. Fat sheep scarce, and at higher values. Pigs were unusually numerous, but maintained their late value. Prices obtained were — Dairy cows, £6 10s to £9; calves, 29s to 325 ; yearlings, 13s to 60s ; three-year-old steers, £4 15s to £5 i2s 6d ; cows, £3 2s to £5 ; fat cattle averaged about 2iu the 1001b; fat sheep, Id the It); bn __- voolledewc, withdrawn at 28s ; cross- brods, from 2 As eieu ; pigs, from the coast, 2jd the lb.
