Treasury, Wollington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS areinrited for the purchase of the whola or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legislature of the Colony, entitled " Tho Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870," and "The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions :—: — 1. The Debenture* will be payable to Bearer and will be issued 111 sums of not less thau One Hundred Pounds each. ' 2. The Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony , w ill bear interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, on tbo 15th day of April and tho 15th day 0 October in each year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invergargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15th day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or nt any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months' notice being rcquued previous to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will bo opened nt the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May next, in the presence of "such of tho tenderers as desire to be presont — the minimum price under seal being iirst placed on the table. In the event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess ol the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered for must be paid at tho Treasury at Wellington, as under :— 5 per cent accompanying application ; * the balance on or before* the 16th May, 1873. Or nt the option of the purchasers :: — • 5 per cent on application. 20 per cent in one month, "\ 25 per cent in two months, ' with accrued 25 per cent in three months, C interest. 25 per cent in four months. ) * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will bo entitled to interest from the 15th day of April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under tho respectivo Acts, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whoso applications sales aro effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the 9th May, will be accepted, provided they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of New Zealand, notifying that tho necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank of New Zoaland, to tho credit of a Loan Doposit Account.
