TKNDKRS areinvited for "the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two Hundred and' Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zuuland Government Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legiilaturc of the Coloin , entitled "The Immigration und Public Works Ivoan Act, 1870," and " The Defeiueand Other Purpo-.es Lwn Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions :—: —

1. The Debentures will bo pa) able to Bearer and will be issued in sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which aro becurcd on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colon} , will bear interest at the rate of -1 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, on the Ljth day ol April and the 15lh dii) ot October in each jear, at the lJ.uik of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Imcrga-rgill. U. The principal sum w ill be payable on the 15th day of April, 1913, nt the Treasury at Wellington, or at aiij branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New ' Zealand, at the option of the holder, siv months' notice being required preuom to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friduj , tho ninth day of May next, m the ptesence of such of the tenderers as desire to be present —the minimum price under seal being firot placed on the table. In the event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess ol the issue, a pro rala distribution will be made. 5. Tho amount tendered for must be paid at the Trea•ury at Wellington, as under :—: — 5 per cent accompanying application ; * the balance on or bclorc the 10th Muj, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers :—: — 5 per cent on application. 20 per cent in one month, *) 25 per cent m two months, ' with accrued 2S per cent m three months, t iuteret-t. 25 per cent m lour months. J * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest irom the 15th day of April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the AgentH appointed under the le&peclne Acts, will be delivered to pin chasers or their nominees. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on tho 9th Maj, will be accepted, provided they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of tlio Bank of New Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid nilo the Bink of New ZcaI and, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. IN compliance with a Resolution oi the Hoiiic of Rcpresentulucs, passed on 22nd October, 1872, a Bonus is hereby ottered ior the encouragement ot certain Colonial Industrie^ munch :—: — IRON. Boxuh of £5,000. For tho production in Now Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of I'ig Iron, of Marketable quality. Conditions. 1. The bonus not to be git on for any quantity less than 100 ton*. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Works and claim the bonu* must be gneu to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st December, 1873. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 30th Juiw 1875. 4. Iv the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more- than seven-tenths of the bonus may bo claimed bj tho first producer, and not more than threetenths by the •econd producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim the w holo of the bonus. 5. Tlie Iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will bo examined by an officer to be appointed b) tho Government who may require tho production of bona jide account sales of quantities not less tlum 100 tons weight, showing that such Iron has been sold at i\ fair market price ns Pig Iron.

STEEL. Boxus of £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 toni weight of marketable Steel from Magnetic or Titaniferous Iron Sand or Iron Ore. Conditions. 1. Notice must be given to the Colonial Secretary of the intention to claim this bonus before the 30th June, 1873. 2. The claim for payment of the bonus must he made before 30th June, 1871. 3. The bonus wdl be paid to the producer who effects the first bona jide sale of the above quantity of Steel at a fair market price. SUGAIi. Bonus of £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary bclore 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of the bonus to bo sent m before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer w ho first effects a bona jide sale of the amount oi Sugar bpccilied. PAPER. Bo>cs ov £2,500. For tho production of 100 tons of Printing Paper, manufactured in New Zealand by Machinery. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to clnnn IhLs bonus must bo gnen to the Colonial Sccrcturj before ;j]st J.imiar\, 1873. 2. The Paper must be made by maduuen, permanently established and working m tho Colony. 3. Claims lor payment of the bonus must, bo bent in before 3M December, 1871. '1. The bonus will be paid to tho producer who effects the first Lanajide sale of the nnmuntof l'rinling Paper specified. FISH. Bonus ok Is. N.it Cw r. This bonus will be be paid on Cured Fish, dry or pickled exported irom the colony for consumption abroad. Conditions. 1. The bonus will be paid to the producer on the production ol account sales showing that the Fish has been sold out of the Colony for fair market \alue. 2. Tho exporter to enter into a bond ivot to reland in the Colom iinj Fibh on which a bonus has been paid. 3. The bonus may bo claimed on nil Fish exported be Iweou Ist November, 1872, and Ist Nou-nibcT, 1879., and is to bo paid out of all moneys appropriated for that purpose.
