Brace, of Auckland, that it is expedient for the ganc/al interest of the Church thftfc the principle of synodical action be affirmed, and brought into action by the Assembly, and that the Presbytery of Canterbury be formed into a synod, and that the remaining Presbyterians be left to form themselves into synods as soon aa they deem it desirable. The" grain market is inactive. Wheat quite out of stock ; flour, £14. Oats easier, 2s. 4<lper bushel. The dry weather is causing serious apprehension for the crops of oats. On light lands the crop is almost past hope. A little rain fell to-day, but quite insufficient for what is required. Wheat generally is lookiug well, for though the crops will certainly be light the quality will be good. Dairy produce is plentiful. Butter 4.U1 to 5d per lb ; new cheeses abundant, 44d per lb.
