CORRESPONDENCE.
I To the Editor of the, "Waikato Times. ! Sik,—There was a slight orror in your report of mv remarks at the Cambridge show. I did not say that R. and E Maclean's Leicester Hock avci-aged 131bs,'but 13s per fleece last year. ' In proposing the toast " The special prize givers,"— at the request of the secretary—l said I, hoped the. special prizes offered here would be paid, which was not the case at Auckland. These special prizes w,ere advertised, offering £5 for the best brill, arid £o for the best cow shown. It happened that one herd won the first prjze for Hereford bull and Hereford cow; also, first prizo for shorthorn bull and shorthorn cpw. and, as owners, we were very anxious tq know which of them were considered the champions. The judges admitted the excellence of all-ofthem—three out of the four were imported from England. I asked the secretaryMr Gordon, for the desired information; be wrote in reply* that the judges did not award the special prizes. And I stated at Cambridge, and still say, that it appears to me'. that the reason the prizes were withheld was because the wrong exhibitors were entitled to them. I beg to remain, &.c, Evehy Maclean. Hamilton, iX-orenibciylS?*-.
