A new edition of the selection of Mr. Disraeli's Speeches, published in the " G-olden Library," is about, to appear. It will contain a correct report of the recent speech nt the "Royal Literary Fund Dinner, now specially revised by the author. A grandson of Daniel O'Connell is lecturing in Pennsylvania on the warriors and bards of Ireland. The will of Horace Mayhew has lately been proved under £8000 personality. Mr Algernon C. Swinburne is about to publish a reply to a recent criticism, to be entitled " Under the Microscope." Monday was the eighteenth anniversary of the opening of the Crystal Palace by the Queen and the Prince Consort. It has been visited by mose than 30,000,000 persons. A very obscurely worded telegram from Lieutenant DaAvson, of the Livingstone expedition, seems to settle the question of Livingstone's safety. The telegram runs thus : —" Nile question appears settled. Underground village next attracts Livingstone's attention. Stores will be forwarded immediately."
