"William Berry was brought up in custody at Ngarurwahia yesterday, before Gf. Ra-yner, Esq., J.P., and Richard Hunt, Esq., J. P., charged with having threatened to burn down the sheds and destroy the pug-mill on Mr. Ralph's brickfield, at Ruhaikapeke. The charge was proved, and the prisoner sentenced to find two sureties in £25 each, and himself in a like amount, to keep the peace for three calendar months. As the prisoner was unable to find the sureties, he will be sent to Mount Eden for three months, or till such time as the necessary sureties come forward. "We are glad to learn that the schooner Onward has been purchased for the Waikato trade. She will now run regularly between the Mamikau and the Waikato Heads. A want which has long been fejt will thus be supplied, i.e., a regular supply of timber for buildiug and other purposes. "We call attention to an advertisement in another ohunn announcing that Mr. John Xnox will hold an extensive sale on Saturday.
