Major Jackson, the member for tl e' Waikato,-moved an amendment to the eff< that in the prosperous condition of the colony it was not desirable that there should be a change of government. Hollestein and O'Connor spoke in favor of the resolution. A telegram, dated' 5 p.m., says the opposition have a majority of five. The division is expected to take place to-night. Reports have been received from Coromandel to the effect that an import ant find of alluvial has taken place at Waiau, three miles from Kapanga. Several part ies have gone out to try the ground. Tokatea have got 800 oz. melted gold. Caledonian has an excellent show from No: 3 leader, first-class specimens have been taken to-day.- Sbares £35. Cure has 1000 oz. amalgam.
