THE GOLD PROSPECTORS.

WE were unable to gain much information from the two prospectors, Messrs Barry and Nolan, as they passed through this district on their road to Auckland, they considering that being employed by the Government they were only entitled to inform the Superintendent as to the result of their search. From other sources, however, we have succeeded in learning that they were successful in discovering sufficient to convince them that gold exists in considerable quantities in the southern portion of this province. In the neighbourhood of Tuhua, more particularly, were found symptoms of the existence of a large and payable field in the future. We will shortly be able to furnish the public with fuller information, as the Superintendent will not fail to publish a full statement of the experiences of the prospectors.
