B-rogdeti and Sons, for the construction of the Invercargill mid Mataura railway is received, but being considerably over the estimate has been referred for farther consideration between the chief engineer and the tenderers. The difference is now inconsiderable, and the contract will probably be signed in a day or two. The funeral began at 2.30 p.m., and the procession lasted till 4.;30. p.m. There was anovation ii> the Cathedral. A very large number of people- were present of all denominations-
