AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
Mr Alfred Btjckland's Report.—During the present week dairy cattle have offered short of requirements, and prices have risen. Fat cattle have been iri plentiful supply, but many of them of inferior duality. lor best animals lai'-t week s rates have been fully sustained, but medium and inferior fatted have been at lower values. There has been a steady enquiry for well-bred steers, ficm twelve months to two years old, at full rates, but cows and calves in low condition have been at less values. Kat sheep have offered in limited numbers only, and a further rise has been obtained for them, choice pens bringing 4d. pur lb. Pigs of good quality have offered short of reauiremonts, and best animals are better worth. Prices obtained during the past week are as follows Calves, from 14s to 25s ; twelve to eighteen months old, from 30s to 52s 6d ; two-year-olds, 50h to 80s ; three-year-old steers and upwards, 80s to 120s ; store cows, irom 30s. each ; dairy sows, 9/. to 11/. 10s; good fat cattle, 2os to 28s the 100 lbs ; sheep, 3£d to 4d the lb. ; inferior and medium pigs, from 2&d ; choice animals, 4d.
