MEETING OF TOWN BOAED. A Mkktino- of the Town Board was held on Thursday evening. Present—Messrs. limes (chairman), Jv'ayner, Harris, Thomas, and Fitzpatrick. The minutes of last meeting were read and conlinmd.. A lettor was read from Mr. ft. R. Hunt, Manager of the W. S. N. N. Company to erect a suitable structure provided the Town Board would supplement the amount with a vote of £23, to be paid in cash previous to the commencement of the work, the wharf to be of the same description as that etectel at the -Hour mill. The Company further u.idertaltes,. if their proposition is agreed to, to build a small stoa.;e for the convenience of their customers, provided the town .Board grant them permission , to erect it. The chairman said that a committee had been appointed twelve months back for the purpose of Jixing on a spot for the erection of a wharf, and they had selected the spot named in the letter as the most suitable, Mr. Harris did not consider that the Board could entertain the propositions contained in the letter until such time as there were funds in hand, Mr. lv;*ytier explained that a sum of £76 would be at the disposal of the Board at the end of June. *. Air. Harris .could not seo what they wanted with another wharf, there was already a very good one, which had been erected by Mr. Bell, and that gentleman was quite willing that the public should use it. Mr. Thomas moved "Tnata wharf be built at the junction of the two rivers. Mr. Fitzpatriek seconded the motion.. . Mr. Harris moved as an amendment, '"That the matter stand over until such time, aa the Board has sufficient funds at their disposal to justify them in considering the matter." Seconded by Mr. limes.

Mr. Fitzpatric moved that the sum of £20 be paid over) to the: Company on their giving a written guarantee to complete the wharf in a proper manner." Seconded by Mr. Thomas. Mr. Harrismoved as an amendment, " That the money should not be paid over* Seconded by Mr. Innes. Mr. Kayneiy in speaking to the amendment, smd that the "best v/ay to get over the difficulty would be to advertise for tenders for the erection of a wharf. If any would undertake it by receiving £20 in addition W. the £33 10s. let him do so. He moved:as a further amendment, "That the money be paid over to the Company in proportion to the work"completed."
