RIVERTON RACES. Riverton has again staged the premier social event of Southland; and the Riverton races throughout were excellently controlled. The president, Mr D. M. Tweedie, was again helped in his onerous tasks with beautiful weather, 'even on the third day it changed to sunshine on his arrival at tlie course; aaid the secretary, Mr 0. B. Banks, and his staff had every arrangement completely organised. The totalisator returns for the three days were considered most satisfactory, when a comparison is. made with other meetings.
