WOMAN’S STRANGE FEARS.
CRASH INTO TREE. Said to have a “phobia,” o r fear, of policemen in uniform, a coroner’s wife was accused at Oxford, England, recently of having driven a ear while under th e influence of drink. The charge was? dismi.-sed She was Mrs Sheila Dalgleish, of W'itrey. Oxfordshire, wife of Dr Dalgleish, the Witney coionei. Police-constable Gordon described how, while cycling along St. Giles. Oxford, early in the morning he saw a car swerve and collide with a tree. He asked Mrs C-algleish to get out of the car, but he had to lift he r nut as j*ha was unable to stand. When u<? cautioned her'.she said t “You will be terribly unpopular for this,” while t° a doctor sh ( , replied : “It is silly to sav I’m drunk.
